Capturing Lindsey and Mike’s engagement photos was a truly memorable experience. The weather for our first session together was perfect. The bright sunshine made it possible to fully capture Mike and Lindsey’s easygoing, warm energy as a couple. We spent the day in stunning Santa Barbara, beginning our time together at the Courthouse, against the backdrop of the building’s Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. We made our way to Mesa Lane Beach, ending our session on the sand, lit by a glowing sunset.
Lindsey and Mike met in Boston in 2014, when they were both college students. They were introduced by their respective roommates and knew one another first as friends. After a semester abroad in Ireland, Lindsey returned home and their friendship turned into something more.
After college, they moved to Los Angeles and have been settled in Studio City for several years. California has always been home to Lindsey, who grew up in Ventura Country. For Mike, the transition to the West Coast from New Jersey was natural; he is a trained tap dancer and dedicated movie buff currently working as a media director for a national dance convention. Lindsey, an avid cook, has recently left a job in the entertainment marketing industry to pursue her passion for interior design.
This past Labor Day, Mike proposed at the Roblar Winery in Los Olivos. The couple feel a strong connection to the Santa Ynez Valley, having traveled there on frequent getaways over the years. This October 16th, they will get to share the magic of the valley with their loved ones. The wedding will take place at the Fess Parker Winery, a sprawling ranch vineyard with a rich history.
Lindsey and Mike were so easy to work with and the day flew by. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this October, as I’m sure it will be an unforgettable day.
