Couple Session in Ojai

Photographing Olivia and David in Ojai felt extra special to me. Olivia is not only a close friend, but also a fellow photographer. Over the years, we’ve worked together a few times, and she truly is one of the sweetest people. Because of that, seeing her in this season of life, so loved and so well taken care of, meant a lot to me.

Meeting David was equally a joy. From the start, it was easy to see how well they complement each other. The way he looks at Olivia, along with the calm and steady energy between them, made the session feel effortless. On top of that, they brought their sweet and slightly wild dog, which instantly added even more personality and movement to the session.

Sunset in the Ojai Mountains

As the evening went on, the light slowly changed, and we were treated to the most gorgeous sunset over the Ojai mountains. This is something I’ve always wanted to photograph, and finally seeing it in person felt surreal. With the warm tones in the sky and the quiet surroundings, everything came together beautifully.

At the same time, the landscape and their connection worked perfectly together. Rather than posing, they simply walked, laughed, and enjoyed being present. Because of this, the photos feel natural, emotional, and timeless.

Photographing Real Connection

For me, sessions like this are about more than just photos. Instead, they are about trust, comfort, and letting moments unfold naturally. Photographing a friend in love, while also shooting in a place I’ve always dreamed of, made this experience even more meaningful.
