I met Nicole and Travis at Haley and Tim’s wedding in Ojai. Nicole was one of the bridesmaids, and Travis spent the day right there with the group. From the start, we all got along easily. Everything felt natural, relaxed, and fun, which is always the best sign. When Nicole later reached out about me photographing their wedding, it felt really special. Photographing a wedding where I already knew the couple and so many guests felt like working with friends again. You can see Haley and Tim’s wedding here: https://sarahvendramini.com/ojai-wedding/
The day started at Balboa Bay in Newport Beach with calm energy and so much excitement. The day was beautifully planned by Lisa Simpson, and everything flowed smoothly from beginning to end.
Nicole’s makeup was done by Tanya Bures, and she truly is one of the best. Over the years she has become a friend, and working with her and her team is always such a great experience. The makeup looked soft and timeless and photographed beautifully all day, perfect for a coastal wedding.
Nicole wore a wedding dress from Alousie Bridal, designed by Ronalina Bridal, and it was incredible. Every detail photographed so well, and the fit was flawless. She chose not to carry a bouquet, which I loved, because it let the dress shine even more. The bridesmaids carried bouquets by Karla Flores, and the mix of colors in their dresses added so much movement and personality to the photos.
The ceremony took place on Duffy boats, surrounded by all white florals that later moved to the reception space.
After the I dos, Nicole and Travis boarded their private boat and headed to Newport Yacht Club, followed by guests cruising along on Duffy boats. The ride felt like part of the celebration, not just a transition. The decor leaned into a red, white, and blue palette without feeling themed, inspired by Travis proposing on the Fourth of July and his Navy background. Red florals popped against the nautical setting of the yacht club.
Downbeat Agency kept the dance floor packed all night. Lauren Dinh captured content throughout the day, adding another layer to the story.
To end the night, Nicole and Travis left the reception the same way they arrived, hopping back onto their private boat as guests cheered from the dock. My favorite moments included the bay cruise, arriving by boat at the club, the grand exit, and all the candid photos of friends laughing, dancing, and fully enjoying the night. Nicole and Travis are surrounded by incredible people, and that joy filled every part of their day.
